Pioneer BDR-101A Blu-Ray drive ready for Pre-order in UK

With Blu-Ray close to being
launched it seems the first signs of Blu-Ray writers creeping into
the UK
market have begun. It seems the Pioneer BDR-101A is already
available for pre-order from some online shops. While this is still a first
generation drive, it seems that if you want to burn DVD's you may be better off
sticking to your current DVD writer as DVD burning speeds are still slow.
Another downside is that CD and CDR reading and writing isn't supported
either so hopefully as time goes on other Blu-ray drives will support
this.

Don't expect new technology to
come cheap at around £620+ ($1152 US Dollars at current exchange rates) you
better hope you have a lot of notes tucked away. Don't forget you also
have to think about adding the cost of Blu-Ray media while you're at
it.
