Pirated Harry Potter DVD debuts in Malaysia at $3

Oh wonderful irony. The same weekend Harry Potter debuted in theatres worldwide, people were already selling pirated DVDs on the streets. Of course quality isn't really good and for the same price you can see it in the cinema, but this proves again that piracy is really hard to fight. Take a look at the article here.

Available on the street at just $3, pirated DVD versions of "Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets" went on sale in Malaysia the weekend the movie made its worldwide debut.

The film earned $142 million at the box office in its first weekend in North America and eight international markets.

It also opened at cinemas in Malaysia -- regarded by the entertainment industry as one of Asia's hotspots for piracy -- as well as Taiwan, the Philippines and Singapore.
