In separate raids conducted in the city, the Delhi Police has recovered huge quantity of pirated CDs-VCDs, audio cassettes and arrested four persons in this connection. India suffers from a high piracy rate and the all four owners of the respective shops have been arrested for alleged violation of the Copyright Act.
In the first incident, the Police recovered 163 pirated CDs-VCDs, three CD writers, one audio cassette recording machine, 400 music cassette covers and a computer system from a music shop in West Patel Nagar, Deputy Commissioner of Police (Crime Branch) Dinesh Bhatt said today. |
In three other raids conducted in Bhajan Pura in North-west Delhi, the police recovered 634 pirated CDs-VCDs from three shops, he said.
