Plextor America releases new firmware for PX-W4824TA drive

Yesterday Plextor America has released a new firmware version for their PX-W4824TA and PX-W4824TU (USB 2.0) drives.

Update:

Plextor Europe has now also released this new firmware version. Their changelog also adds that the PX-W4824TA drive can now fully overburn up to 99 minutes!

Firmware v1.04 March 3, 2003:

Fixed a bug where an error would occur when the drive tried to re-format a disc which was previously formatted as an MRW disc.

Correct identification of >79 minutes media

Writing up to 99 minutes

Improved the write quality on Verbatim 16x CD-R disc

Added functionality to the drive so it will play Audio CD's at 8x CLV with MediaPlayer
