Plextor Japan has released information of an to be released Plextor drive. This is a black, slimline CD-RW/DVD-ROM drive. The drive connects to your PC by using the USB1.1 or the USB2.0 interface.
The drive can write and rewrite CD-R(W)s at 8 speed, read CDs at 24 speed and read DVD-ROM at 8 speed. Besides that the drive will feature the PoweRec and Burnproof technology to determine the optimum laser settings and to prevent buffer underruns. It has a 2 MB buffer.
The drive comes with Nero Express for writing CD-R(W)s and with PowerDvd XP to read back the DVD-ROMs. Will only be available in the US and Japan.
