Plextor puts 18X DVD-Writer on hold

Pac used our news submit to tell us "Well - let"s see if we get a PX-760A labeled with 755 and one day a firmware update or hack will make 18X writing true - not only on c0deking"s LiteON 1693S 😉 "

"The 18X write quality with current media does not meet the internal quality standards" - that"s what Plextor european central in Belgium says. The PX-760A won"t be available for the time being. In a few weeks, the PX-755A should become available with the same write strategy and analysis features as the PX-760A, but limited to 16X speed. The autostrategy function is improved with that drive and allows manual edit of each DVD media write strategy.
