Mobile analytics company Medialets recently reported the Palm App Catalog has reached the one million download plateau, though Palm has been extremely slow adding new apps to the store.
"The Pre is an amazing device with lots of potential and we're looking forward to what a public SDK will offer both consumers and developers alike," according to a blog post on the Medialets web site.
Analysts predict around 150,000 Pre units sold since it went on sale in the United States on June 6, meaning around six apps per Pre were downloaded.
The Palm App Catalog has just 30 applications at the moment -- all available for free -- but the company has to continue to add new apps to keep interest high. Unfortunately, the app store has the same number of apps today as when it first launched, Medialets reported, urging the company to continue to expand the catalog.
Developers interested in creating Pre applications will soon have access to its software development kit, which is expected to be available for download soon.
The ability to download apps was first made popular by the Apple App Store, with Verizon and other providers offering apps users can download.
