Newsbytes reports more RIAA news. This week they urged a powerful House panel to focus more intently on combating digital music piracy because they really really believe this is the most serious problem affecting digital music and the music industry.
In the letter, Rosen contends that Internet-based music piracy is causing "serious damage to those who make and market music." Rosen goes on to link escalating music piracy to a 10 percent drop in domestic record sales in 2001. |
Although Rosen does not call for direct federal intervention in the letter, she does call on technology companies to work with copyright holders to develop "cooperative technological solutions" for combating piracy.
Man don't they got anything better to do?!?!
