RIAA billed for wasting time

Thank goodness for higher education.  Most of you have been following the increasing demands of the RIAA witch hunt, now focused on demands to universities and colleges to turn over their student lists based on IP addresses.

Two universities are getting fed up with the time demands and maybe even with the intent of the mass mailing of threatening letters.  The University of Wisconsin has said “thanks, but no thanks” we have no obligation to disclose anything unless under court order, while the University of Nebraska has told the RIAA it cannot help them as it changes the IP address every time a student logs in and only keeps the records for a month.

Of course, the RIAA is not happy as they think records should be kept for longer.  Thankfully, the public land grant  universities are not in business to please the RIAA, and they have sent them a bill for wasting their time.  Nice move, Huskers.
