The German website Heise reports today that the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) has send out a cease and desist order to several filesharing platforms. Operators like LimeWire, WinMX and BearShare should immediately take care that thier users are not longer able to share copyright protectet contents.
Heise also reports that according to the Wall Street Journal, which also has the RIAA paper, the operators now can choose between sueing against the order and changing their platforms in a way which is accepted by the RIAA. Whatever that means.
Well, let us wait and see how it will end up this time. Personally I don't think that the operators will change their platforms in any way which satisfies the RIAA.
