RTV71 used our news submit to tell us that the RIAA has pocketed around $100 million dollars via lawsuits against P2P file sharers. As we know most lawsuits are settled out of court to avoid being forced to pay high settlements that could cause the person being sued to loose their home. The average settlement is between $3,000 and $6,000 though this can vary.
If we calculate that all 18,337 U.S citizens that have settled out of court at say $5,000. This would mean the RIAA would have made around $91.6 million from suing people that can't afford to fight back. What do you think of this?

Let's say all 18,337 USA citizens sued have settled for $5,000 USD each, to avoid going to court and possibly losing their homes. That would give the RIAA massive profits of $91,685,000! The RIAA has profited nearly $100million by suing individual who are too helpless to fight back, since their 'sue em' all' campaign began, years ago. |
