The RIAA has filed a further 493 lawsuits against unnamed file sharers bringing the total number of individuals sued to almost 3000. The RIAA does not have the identity of the 493 file sharers but soon will do thanks to court orders which will force ISP's to divulge the file sharers personal information. The RIAA does have names of 24 individuals which did not reach an out of court settlement with so these 24 people are now facing lawsuits due the failure to settle. The average settlement seems to be around $ 3000 out of the 400 or so cases the RIAA has been able to settle with since last September.

The RIAA just cant accept that they can never go back to the hay day when they raked in cash with over priced cd's, digital legal services have replaced this and they are trying to raise prices of music on those services so how can they get people to go legal if prices cost the same as a cd.
