RTV71 used our news submit to tell us about this story he spotted over at the LA Times. (subscription required) In it, we can read that the well known group Radiohead is unhappy with the music industry and may try to make a go of it on their own. On the heels of completing a contract with EMI, Radiohead's frontman, Thom Yorke, says the band has the option of releasing their next album independently, once they have enough material for a CD.

It would have been a tad bit more interesting an interview, if someone would have asked what the other two options were. Certainly with the Internet available to all, they could use it as well as the music industry to advertise, publish and/or distribute their music. Maybe due to the situation they are presently in, they can give it a try. It would be nice for a mainstream band to show they can successfully go it alone, now that they are free agents.
