Record number of CD recorders seized in Italy last year

GristyMcFisty used our news submit to tell us that last year a record number of CD recorders has been seized in Italy as a result of the actions of the Italian FPM (Federation Against Music Piracy) organization. In total 1,579 CD recorders were seized, which means an increase of 69% compared to 2002:

Seizures of illegal compact disc-recordables (CD-Rs) declined 41% from the same period of the past year. A total of 1,282,000 cd-rs were seized. Around 5 millions of blank cd-rs were seized in custom operations. 993 individuals (-30%) were arrested between January and December in 558 antipiracy operations.
