D4rk0n3 used our news submit to tell us about this freeware app that can be used to backup those copy protected DVDs. With the loss of DVD Decrypter and also there no longer are updated versions of DVD Shrink, which were also freeware, this may be a solution for some out there having trouble with some of their backups. The software uses DVD Decrypter as the ripping engine and FixVTS to clean the ripped files.
| RipIt4Me is a freeware utility that helps you backup your copy protected DVDs.
Recently released DVDs are now very often equipped with stronger copy protections - such as ARccOS™ and RipGuard DVD. Programs like DVD Shrink or DVD Decrypter cannot handle these types of discs.
With the help of RipIt4Me, ripping these DVDs will be a very easy task. The program is fully automated and the wizard will guide you through all the necessary steps involved. If you prefer, there is also a true "1-Click" mode that will perform all the involved steps automatically for you.
Please refer to the official RipIt4Me guide for more information on how to use this program. What's new in the latest version: Version 1.4.2.0 (18 July 2006) - Accented characters in the DVD label are now converted to "_".
- Added display of DVD Label in Step 1 (the DVD-ROM is monitored in case you open/close it).
Bug Fixes: - Fixed a problem with the DVD label code (if there was no DVD, or the label couldn't be found, the previous label was used).
- Fixed a bug in the UDF routine that caused some of the VOB files to not be found in X-men 2 for example.
- Fixed bug that caused older versions of FixVTS (e.g., Beta 1.24) to not be flagged as such.
- Fixed bug that prevented RipIt4Me.log from being removed if DVD Shrink was still running at the end of processing.
