Ritek's revenue skyrockets ahead

Ritek has reported self estimated revenues of NT$2.345 billion for the month of September. Ritek has surged ahead of its rivals with its performance outdoing the other six optical media manufactures inTaiwan.

Ritek has recorded month after month of growth in revenue for last 2 months thanks to sales of other products apart from optical media, things that helped the were in the area of memory cards. Optodisc another optical media manufacturer recorded the lowest revenue for September with only NT$165.8 Million.

RitekRitek on October 11 reported that its self-estimated revenue of NT$2.345 billion in September, was the highest level for the company so far this year. Ritek is the only company with this level of performance among the six leading makers of optical discs in Taiwan, according to September figures released by makers.

Ritek had seen month-on-month growth in revenue for two consecutive months, mainly as a result of booming sales of product lines other than optical discs, such as memory cards, the company pointed out.  In contrast, Optodisc Technology's self-estimated September revenue of NT$165.8 million was this year's lowest.

Last quarter, leading Taiwan makers of optical discs generally experienced lackluster operations, and only CMC Magnetics was likely to see profitability, said
institutional investors on the local bourse.
