Roxio launches Easy VHS to DVD software

Roxio today released Easy VHS to DVD, a new software/hardware combination aimed at making it easier for users to digitize VHS recordings into DVD.

Users simply plug the dongle into a USB 2.0 port and use the other end -- with S-Video and composite-video inputs -- to connect an analog video source to the PC.  Roxio also made it possible to output the video to mobile devices or YouTube.

The software has been designed to be easy for newbie users to easily edit the video once it has been transferred to the PC.  Easy VHS to DVD allows users to apply filters, remove and edit unwanted video clips, make chapters, and add effects into the video.

Even though VHS is a dying format dominated by DVD sales the past few years, many people still have VHS tapes with information they would like to digitize.

Roxio Easy VHS to DVD can now be purchased for $59.99 from Roxio's web site, and will head to retail stores sometime next month.

This isn't the first time a company created a technology to help users convert old VHS tapes into digital content, but Roxio hopes its low-priced software and hardware bundle will be a one-stop shop for users.
