Software Architects has released the first software package
that is able to write to Sony's Blue Laser drives. Blue laser drives (Blu-ray)
are able to store about 23 GB on a disc the size of a DVD and will likely
become the follow up technology for the current red laser DVD technology.
Sony is currently marketing its blue laser products as PDD (Professional
Disk for Data) and pricing is making it mainly intresting for professional
users, like TV stations and other applications where large amounts of data need
to be stored that can be easily removed and changed.
