Samsung has officially added support for high-definition streaming content through Netflix for its BD-P2500 and BD-P2550 standalone Blu-ray players.
Netflix announced last month that it Samsung would offer a firmware update for two of their Blu-ray players, aiming the release before Christmas. The two companies announced their video streaming partnership in late October, a few weeks after the release of the BD-P2500 and BD-P2550 players.
Owners of these two Samsung Blu-ray players should receive an indication that new firmware is available for installation. If not, an online firmware update download is available from Samsung.

Netflix has only 300 HD titles -- from an overall catalog of more than 12,000 -- but Netflix will continue to expand the new catalog. The ability to stream content through Netflix and Blockbuster is becoming more popular, as digital content tries to catch up in popularity to physical media.
Streaming content is becoming increasingly common, as more of you want to be able to watch movies on-demand through TVs. Streaming Netflix is currently available through Microsoft Xbox 360 game consoles, TiVO DVRs, Roku, and LG BD300 players, with other Blu-ray players expected to follow suit.
Would Netflix streaming capabilities help persuade you to purchase a certain Blu-ray player?
