ExtremeMHz published today a detailed review of the Samsung SH-S183L LightScribe DVD Writer. Featuring s-ATA interface and Lightscribe, the new Samsung drive shows interesting specification, like 12x RAM media writing speed, 18x on single layer plus and minus dics, and 8x on both plus and minus Dual Layer discs.
The main interesting feature is the s-ATA interface that among the other things allows a lower CPU usage than a classic IDE drive. According to the review, however, again compared to IDE drives, other than CPU usage the other real benefit of the s-ATA interface is a smaller cable.
