Well it's seems the MPAA has sponsored the Boy Scouts of Hong Kong for Copyright Enlightenment classes. They appear to be teaching the Scouts that keeping the price of CD's artificially high will benefit the consumers of Hong Kong.
The MPAA of Hong Kong is also handing out IP
Proficiency (Intellectual Property) badges. To earn this badge, the Scouts have to take a few seminars and prove they know the value of a copyright.

It transpires that, by an astounding coincidence, scouter Chan is the deputy general manager for the MPA's Hong Kong program. Was he suitably compensated for his brainwave, we wonder? The IP Badge was the brainchild of Victor Chan - the deputy general manager for the MPA's Hong Kong program. Chan let word of his deep concern for Chinese youngsters get out, and the Hong Kong Scout Association, Hong Kong Intellectual Property Department (IPD) and Hong Kong Customs & Excise Department rushed to back the program. |
