Sharp announced that it is ready to release its first Blu-ray player this fall, which will tackle one of the main issues so far by both Blu-ray and HD DVD players - the time it takes for the player to begin playing a loaded disc. Going by this High-Def Digest report, this player has a Quick Start feature where a loaded disc will start playing just seconds after the disc being inserted into the player.
The Sharp Blu-ray player, model BD-HP205, will also feature 1080p output support, HDMI v1.3, native 24fps film support and on-board Dolby True HD decoding. It even includes 5.1 analogue audio outputs to support analogue 5.1 amplifiers.
