Designs EM8610 Powers KiSS Technology's High-Definition Plasma TV Integrated
With DVD Capabilities and Wireless Internet
Sigma Designs, a leader in digital media processing
for consumer appliances, today announced that its EM8610 digital media processor
will be used in KiSS Technology's new PD342 42-inch Plasma, high-definition TV
(HDTV) with built-in DVD and wireless Internet. The EM8610, based on Sigma's
award-winning REALmagic™ technology, provides a highly integrated solution for
ATSC, DVB, IP video, DVD and MPEG-4 decoding.
A demonstration of the KiSS Plasma TV, which
features the Sigma EM8610, will be launched at IFA 2003, in Berlin, Germany,
August 29 through September 3 in Hall 23, Stand 102.
The KiSS PD342 Plasma TV exemplifies attention to
detail, and includes such refinements as recessed cables that are embedded
within the screen's base. The TV also includes an integrated DivX certified DVD
player and wireless Ethernet, allowing consumers to view movies, presentations,
photographs, music, as well as access Internet radio.

The Plasma TV's high-definition plasma display
panel provides brilliant image quality and is geared to boost the consumer
market for flat screen TV's. The plasma TV is ideal for use in boardrooms,
presentations, business meetings, public information systems, information desks
and home entertainment. The KiSS PD342 is available as a 42-inch TV and has a
depth of only 79mm. The TV can be supported with a conventional pedestal or wall
mounting. With the recessed cables, the streamlined look of the KiSS Plasma TV
is maintained, with the built-in DVD and wireless Ethernet.

The KiSS PD342 Plasma TV includes an integrated
DivX certified DVD-player based on the award-winning DP-500, enabling movies to
be watched or presentations to be run without requiring any additional hardware.
In addition, the KiSS PC-Link Software enables the plasma screen to be directly
connected to a PC or Notebook. The screen is supplied complete with DVD, DivX
3.11, 4 & 5, XviD, CD, MP3, Ogg Vorbis, KiSS Plasma and others as standard
features. Additional product specifications include: 16:9 picture size, max.
image resolution 1024x1024, 16.7 million colors, TV-tuner, viewable image of
1020mm (H) x 610mm (W), weight approximately 30kg.
