Sling Media has started shipping its high definition-compatible Slingbox PRO-HD, capable of streaming SD or HD content from a home television source.
Retailing for US$299.99, the PRO-HD now includes a TSC/QAM high-definition digital tuner compared to the earlier PRO model's standard-definition analogue tuner.
With the availability of the Slingbox PRO-HD, Sling Media has also updated its SlingPlayer for Windows software for PCs running Windows XP or Windows Vista. New features include the ability to stream high-definition video over the internet, an Electronic Program Guide and the ability to pause and time-shift live television within a 60-minute buffer.
