Of course, this $11bn figure plucked from the air by the BSA is somewhat like estimates of the value of drug seizures made by the police - it's predicated on the notion everyone would be paying top street price.

But it still means that one in four of all software in use is illegal and the BSA in the UK has called on the European Union (EU) for tighter legislation to combat the problem.
Well, I guess if everyone buys his software legally, it would be arround $11bn. But me for myself, I wouldn't buy 3D Studio Max 3/4 or Adobe Photoshop 6/7. BTW: 3D studio Max 4 = $3495 and Photoshop 7 = $150.
The second is rather ok, if there wasn't a free alternative (and of course the cheaper Paint Shop Pro).
What I guess, and what I've seen being said numerous times on this site: they think that every person who uses the pirated version would buy the real product (but I won't pay 3.500 bucks for a graphic modeling program, how good it will be/is).
