Sonopress offers fast network to consumers to distribute content

Sonopress is one of the largest CD replicators in the world. With CD pressing factories all over the world they have global coverage it's very likely you have a CD that has been pressed by the company. Intresting is that the company is also making progress in the digital revolution as it has opened it's own secure network to transfer data used in the mastering process of CDs.

While, for us consumers this doesn't mean much (or the network should be un secure and a lot of music leaks), it's a little look into the kitchen of professional CD factories.

The Sonopress Global Network is a worldwide network of Sonopress servers that can accept and transfer data at speeds of up to 1 GB/hour. The network carries a minimum 128-bit encryption to ensure secure transfer of files.

Clients may choose to send data with an HTTPS Web-based interface, ideal for smaller-sized files, or an FTP-based transfer via VPN, which enables large-scale transfer using smaller amounts of network bandwidth.

Utilizing a digital fingerprinting system known as MD5, the Sonopress Global Network scans all files for in-transit corruption or tampering that could affect the integrity or the quality of the end product in any way.

Sonopress is part of the Bertelsmann Group, that is owner of e.g the record label BMG. Sonopress is also one of the responsible companies for implenting copy protections (as that is done in the factory).
