While the CD technology is at it's limits the companies of course will not stop and switch to other technologies.
Starting in April, Sony will increase DVD player capacity at factories in Malaysia, Mexico and Sony EMCS in Kisarazu, Japan. In fiscal year 2002 (ending March 2003) Sony's total DVD player capacity will climb to 7.6 million units, growing 50% over fiscal year 2001. |
After capacity expansion Sony will have the chance to claim 20% of the global market for DVD players and secure its No. 1 position in the market.
