Sony announces Blu-CD

According to this article over at Engadget, Sony has another Blu-spec up its sleeve. This time they're taking aim at CDs. Blu-spec CDs, to be precise. It takes advantage of (wait for it) Sony's Blu-ray Disc technology to make high-quality discs that will somehow still play on old vanilla (i.e. red laser) CD players.

We're a bit fuzzy on details, due to lack of a human Japanese-English translator, so we're currently forced to rely on Google's Japanese-to-English language translator. We're hoping for an English press release soon.

One of the 60 Blu-spec CD classics slated to be released in the new format include Miles Davis' Kind of Blue, but with prices ranging from $25 to $42 you may want to wait for its Wal-Mart bargain bin debut.
