Sony has announced three affordable full featured receivers, the STR-DG820, STR-DG720 and the STR-DG520.
All the receivers support 1080p 24fps True Cinema, while the STR-DG820 model also brings Full HD audio capability using its onboard Dolby True HD/dts Master Audio decoders. Further they support Digital Cinema Auto-Calibration for simple, accurate automatic set-up, Digital Cinema EX processing for more immersive surround effects and Sony’s DM Port for hook-up of portable and personal music players, wi-fi networks and Bluetooth. All of them also feature 5-7x 100 Watt output.
The Digital Cinema Auto Calibration feature works by plugging in the supplied microphone and then pressing a button. Digital Cinema Auto Calibration then takes over, measuring the distances at the speakers are placed, checking what size they are, and tuning the set-up of the system to make the most of your cinema sound experience.
