After everybody started to declare Blu-ray as the 'only high-definition format', Sony is now trying to make its production costs lower. In the hardware race Sony has developed the world's smallest Blu-ray reader/writer module.
This module happens to be the most cost-efficient. Together with Nichia, Sony developed a new laser unit that is just 3mm thick. Sony's newest Blu-ray module will bring high-definition technology to the mainstream.
Bringing high-definiton to the mainstream means that more people will be interested in the 'newest DVD'. It will no longer be a product for the tech-addicted, it will be a product for the mass. Am I right?
