Sony unveils CRX320A combo drive, 52x CD-R, 16x DVD-ROM

CDRLabs.com reports us that Sony has unveiled a new combo drive, the CRX320A. The drive supports up to 52x recording speeds, up to 32x re-writing speeds and up to 16x DVD-ROM read speeds. The drive is available via Sony's website for US$ 89 (.99 after US$ 20 mail-in rebate):

Sony brings the best of both worlds together with the new CRX320A/U CD-RW/DVD-ROM drive. The new CRX320A/U combines high performance 52X max. CD-R and 32X max. CD-RW burning and 16X max. DVD-ROM reading capabilities into a standard half-height PC compatible drive. CD-R/RW burning is fast and reliable thanks to the built in buffer underrun protection.

It is an ideal drive for those who have limited drive bays in their PC but want to add high performance CD burning and DVD-ROM reading to their systems. Comes bundled with Ahead Software's Nero Burning ROM CD mastering and InCD packet writing software, as well as Cyberlink PowerDVDé¢ DVD player software. The CRX320A/U works with WindowsÂ® 2000, and the WindowsÂ® XP Home and Professional operating systems.
