CDRfreak used our newssubmit to tell us:
This Star Force protection system for CD's and CD-R's (!) seems to be very popular soon, because all steps in making protected cd's can be done inhouse; also there is no generic crack available and this protection can't be copied by CloneCD.
Info on Star Force from their website:
- SF Professional does not allow to launch the program, if the CD has been copied. Doesn't matter if it's been written with home CD-writer or factory equipment, the system will detect it if the copy is illegal.
- Discs protected with SFP are impossible to be copied with such programs as CloneCD, CDRWin, BlindWrite, etc. Protected applications do not run on CD emulators (Daemon Tools, Virtual CD-ROM, etc.)
- Using Star Force SDK, you can significantly increase protection level.
- SF protected CDs are fully compatible with various existing CD drives. This is due to the unique method which Star Force uses to detect the original copy without interfering in the disc's physical structure.
- Protection system uses 14 digit alphanumerical key, which is entered only once - at the first launch. The key will be working only with the given CDs parcel.
More details on this soon. If anyone has experiences with Star Force then please feel free to react and share your thoughts with us.
