thwarting people from running games from their hard disc drives, comes this
news! Special thanks to mrdataNY who noticed this story as well.
News FrontLine 4.7 '“ protection against the latest emulators! The so called armaments drive continues on the DRM market. There are some software emulators that allow experienced users to run protected applications from copies instead of original media. For instance, it took Daemon Tools group eight months to announce a new version of their emulator.
To keep up with the clients' demand StarForce Technologies changes release plans. StarForce FrontLine 4.7 will be launched in the middle of November. Earlier the plan for November was to release FrontLine 4.6. StarForce FrontLine 4.7 will close the new Daemon Tools' issue as well as other modern emulators. It is also important to mention the following changes: licenses deactivation and back-up copies capability '“ these will make easier life of the end-user. New useful functions such as compression of protection libraries will make protection integration more convenient for our clients.

Keep up with client's demand? I didn't realize there was a problem, let alone a demand for such a thing! In fact, I read every now and again, how game companies are removing the StarForce technologies, as it is upsetting their paying customers and a boycott of such games is being organized. Seems to me if I was selling games, I would steer clear of things like this. At least, they should have to announce on the front of the package, that this action was taken, to stop emulation.
