Steinberg offers cleaner audio

Steinberg, the professional music software manufacturer, has released a range of consumer products aimed at the audiophile on a budget.

Clean 2.0 and Clean Plus 2.0 promise to be the last word in audio restoration, aimed at users who specifically want to improve their old vinyl or cassette recordings. For about $37.5, the basic Clean 2.0 package offers srandard restoration functions, such as the removal of clicks and pops to improve clarity, as well as a host of others tools to tweak your sound.

Bonus features include MP3 import and the ability to create surround-sound audio from a standard stereo recording. Clean Plus 2.0 also includes a hardware photo stage that lets you plug a turntable into your PC's sound card without the need for a seperate amplifier.
