Survey: DVD-R beats DVD+R in popularity, DVD+RW rules over DVD-RW

A recent independent  anonymous survey conducted by the RankOne Media Group for CDFreaks.com amongst 2000 new visitors from all over the world, showed that currently DVD-R recordables are more used than DVD+R recordables.

Although many users currently own devices that write both formats, about 48% of the respondents replied that they were using DVD-R discs on these devices. 42% of the people were using DVD+R discs on their recorder and 10% of the respondents were using the DVD-RAM format.

When it comes to DVD-ReWriteables numbers are a bit different. DVD-RW discs were used amongst 47% of the people who filled in the survey while the DVD+RW format was used by 53% of the respondents. About 8,5% of the people told us they used their DVD recorder to burn DVD+R double layer discs.
