Survey: Favorite DVD recorder brands, Sony most popular

A recent independent anonymous survey conducted by the RankOne Media Group for CDFreaks.com amongst 3000 new visitors from all over the world showed that Sony is currently the most popular DVD recorder brand. 13% of the respondents found in the Japanese electronic giant their favorite DVD recorder brand. Sony and Lite-On which are in an optical storage joint venture account together for about one quarter of the responses.

Taiwanese Lite-On and Japanese Plextor were each answered by 10% of the respondents and are second after Sony. Pioneer and LG gained 8% of the responses and NEC accounts for 6%. Below is the entire ranking of brands ranked by the percentage of respondents who filled in the respective brand as their favorite.

Most populair burning software is still Nero as 56% of the respondents would like to have Nero Burning ROM included with their drive. 25% of the respondents prefers Roxio's EasyMedia Creator, 2% prefers B's recorder gold and 3% RecordNow Max. 15% of the respondents picked the 'other' option.
