Digitimes reports that Lite-On IT and another Taiwanese optical drive maker Quanta Storage have posted very good December sales. The two named companies posted record high earnings per share.

MET Technology's December sales grew 28.6% from the previous month. The company told the Taiwan-based Central News Agency that shipments of its CD-RW drives are fully booked through the end of this quarter.
Although BenQ and AOpen posted increases in December sales from a year earlier, their revenues slid from November with the passing of the peak season. BTC blamed its sales decline in December on sliding DVD drive prices.
