Thermaltake Max 4 HDD enclosure reviewed @Hardware Logic

Thermaltake Max 4 is an HDD external enclosure that allows to connect a SATA hard disc to a personal computer through a eSATA or an USB2 port.

What makes this enclosure interesting is the included SATA to eSATA PCI bracket, i.e. it is possible to connect the SATA connector to the mainboard (or to a controller) and then connect the box to the eSATA plug. Of course, the mainboard (or the controller) must support hot swap.

According to the review published at Hardware Logic, the eSATA interface of Max 4 is a high performance one because it causes only a slight loss of performance compared to the internal connection. The USB2 interface, obviously, is slower but it is anyway good enough to use the HDD without problems.
