While the movie industry is still hoping to fight pirates on file sharing networks, the BBC reports that thousands of pirated DVDs of the movie Two Towers have been seized in the UK. The version is the one that has been handed out to Oscar judges, so it seems one of them has leaked the movie to pirates.
Ten thousand pirate DVDs of the Two Towers have been found by customs officers in the UK. They'd been copied in the US from a version given to this year's Oscar judges. Judges get sent copies of all the films in the running, but under the strict rule that they're not copied in any way. |
Before the movie industry is going after the pirates they should also give a good example and stop the leaks of the movies, certainly if they are leaked by people from the industry. Read the story here.
