Last week Toshiba launched legal action against the Italian duplication company Acme. Toshiba stated that the company infringed its intellectual property and have been punching out discs that match the DVD specification.
Acme isn't a holder of a license given by Toshiba or DVD6C Licensing Group and that gives Toshiba the right to take legal action against Acme. Toshiba stated that Acme's actions have harmed its DVD business and Toshiba wants Acme to license the infringed patents but also cough up damages.
