In a very sketchy news report at C|Net, we learn that reporter Yuhei Iwamoto from C|Net Japan, was given word from a Toshiba Entertainment representative - "that the company plans to release titles in the HD-DVD format on March 28." This supports the statement given at this years CES that indicated they planned to release players around that time. They also stated at the show that players would run around 500 to 800 dollars.
Japanese news outlet, Jiji-tsushin, also stated that Toshiba plans to release an HD-DVD drive for PCs in April and an HD-DVD recorder in May. Toshiba had also said earlier that they intend to release a notebook with an HD-DVD drive and discuss the specs this quarter.
