Wippit the online music service has announced that The starting prices of downloadable movies will be 99p ($1.8 USD) but the extras from DVD's will not be offered via this service.
it will start selling legal film downloads from this summer onwards for as
little as 99p. The movies will not have any time limit on them like some current
legal film download sites in the US use and so can be kept and played at anytime. Founder of Wippit, "Paul Myers" said that they were currently in talks with various movie distributors and hoped to release movies as soon as they were released on DVD or shortly after.

Mr Myers added: "As far as we know, we will be the first to fill the gap." Wippit says it will sell downloadable movies from 99p per movie. DVD extra features will not be offered. |
Looks like the music industry is going to have a tough time selling music tracks for 99p when you can get a 1-2 hour movie for the same price.
