Updated AnyDVD 6.0.4.2 adds subtitle transparency option

Both k9cop and Hypnosis4U2NV used our news submit to tell us that Slysoft has updated the program AnyDVD. They even supplied the changelog!

If you need
to backup movies, this has to be the easiest way to go. Once installed, the
program runs in the background. Simply right click the icon in the notification tray to change settings or even rip a DVD to the hard drive. Couple this with Clone DVD and you truly have a powerful combination. With these two programs working together, it allow you to copy a DVD, minus the menus, trailers and various warnings, to save drive space on a home theater box. Or, you can of course copy or "clone" the entire DVD, if you do not wish to expose the original disc to damage from use, by burning the movie to a single or dual layer DVD disc.

What's new in this version: 6.0.4.2, 2006 07 28

  • Added option to set the transparency of Video DVD subtitles! This is very useful for people with large projection systems, as bright subtitles can reduce the contrast of the image or can be distracting. Making the subtitles transparent can greatly enhance the viewing experience.
  • Updated languages

Bug Fixes:

  • AnyDVD could display "Arccos/Puppetlock" protection on copies
  • Setting the drive speed with AnyDVD could cause read errors with some DVD drives, e.g. NEC DVD Writers.
  • Some minor fixes and improvements- Updated languages
