VWB's MediaReady 4000 player nominated for 'Best of CES'

In the Home Media category, Video Without Boundaries MediaREADY 4000 digital media center device was nominated for the 2004 "Best of CES" Award, sponsored by cable network TechTV.

The set-top unit combines a DVD/CD player with streaming playback of audio/video media from both Internet-based and home network sources. The versatile product also integrates a media jukebox, email, Internet surfing, karaoke, gaming, and much more.

MediaREADY 4000 brings together the best of both today's and tomorrow's entertainment and communications technologies," said Jeffrey Harrell, President of Video Without Boundaries. "As a Linux-based, open-source product, MediaREADY 4000 is flexible enough to incorporate emerging products and services, ensuring that consumers can receive maximum usability as technologies evolve. We're proud and excited that MediaREADY 4000 has been considered for one of the top honors in the consumer electronics industry.

Unlike the CES Innovation Awards, TechTV's "Best of CES" considers only products that have not yet reached the consumer or are just beginning to ship. Products are judged by leading professional reviewers who have extensive experience in evaluation, purchasing, and using products in the category.
