Verbatim delivers industry's first 4x DVD+RW media

More press releases today as Verbatim has
announced their 4x
DVD+RW media. The Verbatim company is the first company to produce DVD+RW
media supporting 4x recording (which is equivalent to 36x CD-R
performance):

Verbatim® Corporation announced today that it will begin shipping
its new DataLifePlus® 4x DVD+RW media in August. Certified to write and
rewrite at 1x to 4x speeds, the 4.7GB media incorporates a new proprietary
recording layer technology that provides accurate recording at high speeds
and noise-free playback. At 4X speed, the fastest recording speed of any
current ReWriteable DVD format, users can record 120 minutes of video or
4.7GB of data in approximately 15 minutes. Verbatim DataLifePlus 4x DVD+RW
media is compatible with the Sony DRU-510A 4X DVD+RW drive as well as
announced drives from BenQ, Philips, Ricoh and others that support 4x +RW
write/rewrite speeds. Verbatim will showcase its new 4x DVD+RW media at DV
Expo East, Booth #544, at the Jacob Javits Convention Center in New York
City this week.

Since DVD+RW media can be recorded both sequentially and randomly, it
can be used for video and audio recording, multimedia development, digital
photo albums and data storage. In addition, support for multi-session
writing technology and lossless linking technology gives users the freedom
to quickly add documents, data and video segments without having to open
and close write sessions.

The 4x
DataLifePlus DVD+RW media will cost around $ 5.99 per disc. The
discs come with a lifetime warranty and can be re-written up to 1,000 times. The
complete press release can be found here.
