Virtual CD v5.02 has been released, bug fixes and improvements

A new version of Virtual CD has seen the light.
This software allows you to emulate CD and DVD drives and it is also able to
handle copy protections. The software supports using the images over a network
and is able to protect the images with a password.  The software is also
able to burn the (protected) images to a recordable disc.

 Changelog/Bugfixes:

  • When DVDs in ISO format
    were tied in, there were
    occasionally
    problems reading out the data.

  • Supports as well ISO images bigger than
    2 GB. Some CD drive
    types had trouble reading CD-Text
    and CD-Extra formats in
    v5.

  •  The reading of CD-geometry data will be properly
    handled under Windows 9x.

  • Audio CDs stored more
than once in the CDDB database
    could
    not properly be referenced.

  • The extraction of title information from CDDB caused some
    problems, when titles contain
    characters not allowed in file
    names in
the language version of the operating system.
The software can be purchased for 44.95 EURO. More
information and downloads can be found here. Discuss this software in our Reading and Playing Software Forum.
