Warner, Buena Vista and Universal announce HD titles too

A
couple of days ago we
reported about Fox's, Sony/MGM's, Lions Gate's and Paramount's plans for titles in the Blu-ray Disc format and
for Paramount
also in the HD DVD format. Now Warner, Buena
Vista and Universal have announced their first titles
too:

Warner
plans to initially release 15 titles in the Blu-ray Disc format and 24
titles in the HD DVD format. The titles include for example Batman
Begins, The Last Samurai and Million Dollar Baby.

Buena
Vista
will release its first ten titles this summer exclusively in the Blu-ray
Disc format. The titles include for example Kill Bill vol. 1, Hero and
Dark Water.

Universal
will release ten HD DVD titles in March including The Bourne Supremacy,
U-571 and Apollo
13.

Summarizing
the press releases from all the major studios the Blu-ray Disc format has got 85
titles announced while the HD DVD format has got only 44 but it looks like
the HD DVD titles and players will show up on the shelves first. Toshiba's HD-A1
HD DVD player is also much cheaper than all announced BD players so
far.
