After Warner's choice, many thought, including me, that the war was nearly over. Warner said it would exclusively produce for Blu-ray, but now many national retailers say that they will continue selling hardware and software in both formats.
It seems that the retailers don't just want to step away from HD DVD. The main reason for their choice is Toshiba's Internet connectivity. HD DVD players have been connected to the Internet from the beginning, and Blu-ray is now starting.
The national retailers can drop their prices soon after Toshiba's announcement of future price cuts. This means that HD DVD is starting to become more and more interesting.
The war isn't over yet.
