cd-rw.org told us a new version of Win32LAME (1.7) is out.
The new version of this ready to encode configured LAME encoder with user friendly GUI uses the latest LAME 3.90a version.
- BIG speed improvement over 1.6 (comes from a totally re-designed VBR routine by Mark Taylor and Robert Hegemann)
- Even higher sound quality (gained by the new psycho acoustic routines by Naoki Shibata)
- Typically smaller average files sizes (bitrate)
- Significantly smaller files on most metal & other loud music
- Also new ultra-high quality presets in MPC encoder style: "standard", "extreme", "insane", for the real HiFi freaks with bat ears.
