X-CD-Roast v.0.9 8 alpha 9 released

KaReL used our newssubmit to tell us that another fine Linux progam, X-CD-Roast v.0.9 8 alpha 9, is out!

Some info on the program

What is X-CD-Roast?

X-CD-Roast tries to be the most userfriendly CD-burning software ever. It allows even the unexperienced user to create or copy a CD with a few mouse clicks in a intuitive and nice looking graphical user interface.

Features included in new version 0.98:

-Easy setup and intuitive X11 user interface

-GUI based on GTK+ instead of TCL/TK (100% new C-code)

-Copies most data/mixed-mode/audio-CDs (data also on-the-fly)

-Master data-CDs and rearrange audio-CDs (data also on-the-fly)

-Create your own audio-CDs (full Disk-at-Once support)

-Multisession/Bootable CD creation. (Multisession not done yet)

-Supports most SCSI/ATAPI/Parallel-CD-Writers available

-Supports different international languages

-CDDB-Lookups and CD-Text

-Online help

-Administration mode for usage in computer pools.

-Fully themeable via GTK-Themes

-Runs on most common Unix-Operation-Systems (Primary platforms: Linux and Solaris)

This surely sounds nice. We've had some apps for burning in Linux for some time, but none of them really could compete with a Windows program (much more functionality etc etc). Maybe this piece of software can compete with programs like Nero etc. That should be great for all Linux users (I use Linux and Windows...only reason I still use Windows is the "low" availability of Linux software....).
